British Airways will offer complimentary high-speed in-flight internet by way of satellite agreement
Passengers on British Airways will soon access fast internet onboard at no cost due to a new deal from SpaceX's satellite firm.
Free and Fast Connectivity Available to Everyone
The carrier revealed that this free, “fast and dependable” internet offering through Starlink is set to be available for travelers in coach, business, or first class from the coming month.
Broad Deployment Over Various Carriers
The parent firm for BA, the airline group, stated it had secured an deal with Starlink to offer wifi access on over 500 jets operated by its airlines, such as Aer Lingus, Iberia, and Vueling.
Seamless Internet from Boarding to Arrival
BA noted that the implementation for this system formed part of a £7bn “upgrade” initiative and will offer lag-free connectivity coverage to passengers from the gate through landing, including when in flight over seas and isolated areas.
Passengers will be able to link multiple gadgets and won't need to have to use a special password.

Existing Wifi Offerings
Basic internet service is currently offered to British Airways travelers through most of the airline's jets using its .air system.
Enrollees in the airline's loyalty club may send messages plus text-only correspondence in the air free of charge, whereas flyers looking to watch music, films, and content on their flight if not travelling in premium cabins might be charged between four pounds ninety-nine to £21.99 for a wifi package.

The provider maintains a constellation comprising thousands of spacecraft and is managed under Elon Musk’s SpaceX.

Their executive team has been focusing to improve operations again following a long time with financial constraints, IT problems, strikes, plus staff cuts.

The airline's announcement follows shortly following mobile phone operator Virgin Media O2 revealed it was partnering alongside the satellite provider to improve mobile network service across remote areas across the United Kingdom, enabling users to seamlessly link handsets through space-based systems if there is no regular mobile signal can be found.
