Just as Storm Claudia swept through the northern region the night before, City swept United away at the their home ground. It was a convincing three goal triumph for their manager's side thanks to goals from Rebecca Knaak, Shaw and Lauren Hemp. It was a performance that clearly signaled their championship potential as they strengthened their position at the top of the table.

Successive Setbacks for United

This scoreline marked back-to-back Women's Super League losses for Marc Skinner’s side for the maiden instance since May 2024, leaving them seven points off the table toppers with their title hopes hanging by a thread.
